Carina Vo-Ta
2022 GSAF Intern
Carina attended ALA California Girls State in 2020 (the virtual year!) and was a member of the city of Soto. Carina is originally from Orange County, California but currently attends Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, where she hopes to study Sociology and Civic Studies on the pre-law track. At Tufts, Carina is a copy editor for both The Tufts Daily (the school newspaper) and The Palmier (a food-writing magazine). She is also involved in the Tufts Pre-Law Society, the Asian American Center, and the women's club volleyball team. She hopes to attend law school down the line and go into a to-be-determined field of law.
In her free time, Carina is a voracious foodie and loves to cook and test out new recipes. She also enjoys going to the beach, driving down P.C.H, playing indoor and grass volleyball, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and five French bulldogs.

Salaidh Perez
2022 GSAF Intern
Salaidh is a rising sophomore at Harvard College and a proud 2020 CA Girls State alumnae. Originally from Torrance, CA, she is pursuing a concentration in Computer Science and a language citation in Korean, though she also enjoys history and biology. On campus, you can find her working in the Harvard Yearbook Publications office as their Associate Business Manager, writing for Harvard’s student newspaper, The Crimson, or helping plan the college’s annual Latina Empowerment and Development conference as Associate Director of Marketing. When she’s not also fulfilling her duties as Account Manager for Harvard Student Agencies, Salaidh enjoys running, playing tennis, doing hot pilates, reading, and exploring new cafe and dessert places with friends and family. She also loves traveling, and will be visiting Spain, France, and Italy this summer. In the future, she plans on attending business school in England—hopefully as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford—and obtaining her PhD. Her dream is not only to open her own cafe and bakery, but to one day run her own educational and college prep non-profit, with the aim of fighting educational inequality and helping FGLI students like herself achieve their college dreams. Fun fact—she has run a marathon!
