ALA GSAF’s mission is to support, connect, and empower ALA California Girls State alumnae and support and promote the ALA California Girls State program. ALA GSAF provides grants, scholarships, internships, materials, mentoring, and networking opportunities to ALA California Girls State alumnae.
Since its inception, the ALA California Girls State program has taught responsible citizenship, governance, leadership, respectful dialogue, resiliency, and sisterhood to over 31,000 young women. It has empowered these accomplished young women to reach greater heights through the self-confidence fostered by the ALA Girls State experience. For many delegates, ALA Girls State is the first opportunity they have had to interact with and learn from similarly high-caliber young women of different cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds.
